Dec 8, 2017. #21. One possible reason to remove the EGR components instead of just getting it tuned out is if you're doing other work as well. For example, I removed my EGR cooler, valve, and intake while upgrading to a bigger turbo. Putting the EGR stuff back is more work for nothing.
