Wrong. In both GTA IV and V you can save and reload with cheats and still get trophies. They're only disabled for that session. A quick save and load will re-enable them. Don't confuse GTA V and GTA Online. GTA V has pretty much the same kind of cheats as earlier games in the series.

GTA San Andreas for PS3: Do the cheats just not work? Bought the game earlier, trying to save time grinding by using the Hitman and Max Vehicle Skills cheats. Unfortunately, after some testing, none of the cheats involving the shoulder-buttons seem to work, which limits me largely to Max Muscle and Instant Six Stars.
This mode does not work for GTA San Andreas though. I notice that standalone GSM 0.38's 'Skip Videos Fix' does allow GTA San Andreas to be booted (from disc, and from OPL), successfully skipping the interlaced intro video clip which causes the hang in 480p.

Just drive calmly, avoiding police and crime for a short while. For 2-3 star wanted levels , just find a quiet alley or other secluded spot to hide in. The wanted level will reduce automatically with the passage of time. Alternatively, head into one of your hideouts and change clothes.
