Q5SQ5 MKI (8R) Discussion - Dead battery - Shift to Neutral - I was wondering if there is a way to shift a 2014 TDI Q5 with push button start into neutral with out battery power. How does one removed the shift boot or console (assuming there is a lever to lift up on). Thanks.

With a hidden locationIm sure my experience is not typical but does prove batteries can last a long time. The exterior temp and driving cycle greatly impact the longevity of a battery, as well as where it is placed inside the car. However having a battery last 5 years should be a reasonable expectation and is probably typical. Reply Like. In the index under "Battery" it says "battery location inside the luggage compartment - page 313". If you go to page 313, under "Working on the battery" it clearly says "the battery is located in the engine compartment". Judging by the ultra heavy gauge wiring in the trunk my guess is that it's somewhere under the spare tire .
